Luke goes up to the top of the Arch
So when Amanda and Stacy visited, we didn't have enough time to go up into the Arch as I had to feed Luke some lunch. When he came this past weekend he really wanted to go to the Arch. As I was driving from his "county house" he saw the Arch and he said, "Hi Arch!" and "I go see Arch". He really wanted to go again, so on Saturday he and I went up together into the Arch. They have a small mock-up of the elevator that takes you up. I was worried he might be claustrophobic, so I had him get into it. He thought it was actually going to go up into it. Since it was only a 4 minute trip, I bought some tickets for us and after visiting the museum we took the tram up to the top. He pointed out his "city house" (with a little help) and he had a really great time. We took the tram up with 3 other people and he was laughing with them and of course flirting with the girls that were in there. My son is an incredible person as he is so very loving and caring about others. We had a professional picture taken that I'm putting in his scrapbook and as soon as I can get my scanner hooked back up, I'll post the picture of us together. The Arch is a great place to take kids and the National Park Service does a great job with kids, putting on puppet shows, and helping single dads get through security. Luke "thanked" the Park Ranger (with a little prompting) and I'm hoping to take him to additional parks soon. Today, we woke up and walked Daisy, and 2 blocks south, the City of St. Louis was having a "Fire Engine Parade". There must have been close to 40 fire trucks. The longer I live downtown, the happier I am as there is just SO MUCH TO DO within walking distance. Luke loves his "Starbucks" as on Saturday, we walked down to our Starbucks and he had a chocolate milk and iced lemon loaf. Luke thanked the baristas (specifically Mr. Mario) and we walked on down to the Arch. We had another awesome weekend. Sunday we woke up and he crawled into bed with me and we watched cartoons and then had some breakfast. We then walked Daisy, saw fire trucks, and then went swimming up on the roof of Luke's city house. Luke and I had a great time, and I can't wait to see him again!
Here's some more pictures of our weekend, enjoy!!!
